This fun filled gala day will revive the traditions of the old school Calf Club, celebrating the rural heritage of our school. This year’s events will include: - Agricultural Section (calves (dairy and beef), lambs, goats, pigs, llamas, alpacas) - all entries accompanied by Project Book - Display animals (chickens, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits etc) - all entries accompanied by Project Book - Pets at Home Section (including dogs and horses) - judged by submission of Pet Diary / Project Book - Agrikids competition - Pet Day crafts - Agricultural and animal care exhibits As we are not including dogs or horses in this year’s Pet Day, we would love to see as many learners as possible entering an animal or pet into the Agricultural, Display or Pets at Home sections. In the spirit of Pet Day, it is expected that our learners are personally and fully involved in the care, rearing and training of the pets entered and will be able to talk about how they have cared for their pet. Entry forms, Project Book and Pet Diary templates, information sheets about rearing of animals for Pet Day, and information about the Championship Day will be available on via the West Melton School Website and on reception from week 4. All entries for the Agricultural and Display Animals sections must be received by 25th August 2017 (end of week 5). Entries for other sections will be collected closer to the event. If you are hoping to enter your Agricultural Section Pet into the Boys and Girls Championship Day in November, you must have entered West Melton Pet Day and an Area or Group Day e.g. Ellesmere A&P Show. We would love parents and members of the community to join us in organising this year's Pet Day, please contact Anna Jenkins or Darren Smalley on [email protected] if you can help in any way. |
